Classic oatmeal

  • Place a cup of  steal cut or rolled oats and 1 cups of low fat or unsweetened almond  milk,1 cup of water into a saucepan.
  • Add salt and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce the heat to low, and stir constantly until oatmeal reaches desired consistency (probably 5 minutes or so.)
  • Off the heat, stir in a drop of vanilla extract for added flavor.
  • Add berries, flax seeds( optional)
